When and where do you meet?

*We are currently on hiatus due to COVID-19

Thursday’s, 6:30pm, at Twin Lakes Park Trailhead Pavilion. The Trailhead Pavilion is located at the opposite end of the parking lot from Twin Lakes Family YMCA, at the Brushy Creek Hike and Bike Trailhead. Meetings are 1 to 1.5 hours long, depending on curriculum. When Daylight Savings ends, we meet on Saturdays at noon, until it starts again in the spring.

Do you ever meet on the weekend?

Yes, we will occasionally meet on weekends for certain activities, community service events, and camping trips. Meeting times and locations will be posted on our calendar. When Daylight Savings ends, we conduct our regular meetings on Saturdays at noon, until it starts again in the spring. Our goal of getting kids outdoors becomes difficult when it is dark and cold in the evenings.

Do you always meet outdoors?

We try! Scouting is an outdoor activity, and one of our many goals is for scouts to spend as much quality time outdoors as possible. In the event of inclimate weather such as severe thunderstorms or frigid temperatures, our meetings will be moved indoors. Any meeting changes will be announced by email and on our Facebook page.  We ask that parents dress their scout for the appropriate weather conditions.

My child is also a Boy Scout/Girl Scout. Can they be members of BPSA, also?

Yes! 183rd Tonkawa is not in competition with any other scout group. We have scouts all over the country that are members of multiple scouting organizations. We respect our brother and sister scout groups, and welcome anyone that would like to scout with us.
